Medication management · Phoenix & telehealth statewide

Ninety minutes for your first appointment. That is the whole point.

Every person responds to medication differently. We review your full history, every prescription you are on, and how you are actually doing — then build the plan around that, rather than around the clock.

Before your first appointment

Is this you?

Four reasons people book a medication review.

None of them require anything to have gone dramatically wrong. Most of the time it is just that nobody has had the time to look at the whole picture in a while.

It works, but not enough

The worst days are gone, but you would not call it better. That gap is worth treating, not tolerating.

The side effects are the problem

Weight, sleep, libido, flatness. You stopped mentioning them because nothing changed when you did.

The regimen just grew

One drug added at a time, over years, by different prescribers — and nobody has reviewed the whole list since.

You want off something

Stopping safely takes a structured taper and monitoring. It is a real goal, and we will plan for it.

What we prescribe for

Adults, teens and geriatric patients

  • Depression
  • Treatment-resistant depression
  • Anxiety & panic
  • Bipolar disorder
  • PTSD & trauma
  • OCD
  • Schizophrenia & psychosis
  • Long-acting injectables
  • ADHD
  • Insomnia
  • Substance use
  • Geriatric psychiatry

Not sure it is worth switching? One call, and we will tell you honestly either way.

What we manage

The whole regimen, not the last prescription.

A comprehensive medication management plan keeps every part of your treatment under review — and adjusts it as your response changes.

  1. 1

    Drug interactions

Checked across every prescription you are taking, not just the ones we wrote.

  2. 2

    Side effects

Identified early and actively managed, rather than treated as the price of feeling better.

  3. 3

    Dosage adjustments

Tuned to what is actually happening for you — the effective dose is rarely the starting one.

  4. 4

    Ongoing evaluation

Tracked at every visit so a plan that stops working gets changed, not repeated.

A hand holding four different tablets and capsules

Bring your bottles. Or a pharmacy printout. Taking over a regimen that grew over years — including one started by a provider you no longer see — is routine for us.

Your first visit

What the ninety minutes are for.

1

A short first call

Tell us briefly what you are on and what isn’t working. We confirm we are the right fit and check your insurance benefits before you commit to anything.

2

The 90-minute evaluation

Your full history, every medication you have tried and are taking now, medical factors, side effects and what you want to be different. In person or by telehealth.

3

A plan you understand

What we are changing, why, what to expect and when. Including what we are stopping — not every plan adds something.

4

30-minute follow-ups

Long enough to talk about how it is actually going. We adjust as we track your response rather than waiting months to reassess.

Bring these, and the first visit does more

  • Your current bottles

Or a printout from your pharmacy — names and doses.

  • What you have tried

Anything you stopped, and why, even years ago.

  • One thing to change

The symptom that would matter most to you if it lifted.

Why patients switch

A different kind of psychiatric practice.

We built this clinic around the patients who are hardest to help — and around the belief that complex cases deserve more time, not less.

A blister pack and a single tablet resting on a desk

Time to actually be heard

Appointments are built for real conversation. We ask about sleep, work, relationships and side effects — not just a symptom checklist.

Complex cases welcome

Serious mental illness, co-occurring substance use, geriatric complexity and prior treatment failures are the work we do every day.

Every option under one roof

If medication alone isn’t enough, TMS, SPRAVATO® and ECT are coordinated by the same team who already know your story.

Insurance-forward

Most major plans are accepted, and our team verifies benefits and handles prior authorizations before treatment begins.

My initial. appointment was with Nurse Practitioner Jessica Cruz. It was very worthwhile. NP Cruz is very welcoming yet very nonjudgemental and professional. She welcomes questions and thoroughly answers them. Her professional knowledge is very thorough. I was in the pharmaceutical industry for over 25 years and have dealt with many medical professionals in almost all specialties. NP Cruz impressed me as a top notch practitioner. At the end of that initial session I realized that my situation would be much improved with a bit of time and patience.

The care I received her was far different past experiences with other providers, since Jessica took the time to hear all of my concerns, and fully took them into consideration as we developed a treatment plan. It was much appreciated!

Dr. Gomez is an amazing man and doctor. He took me on when I moved to Arizona. I was patient of his for roughly 3 years he was always professional, compassionate, insightful and understanding. He played a huge part in helping me continue my sobriety while in Arizona. His staff is informative and kind as well and is always quick to lend a hand or answer any questions. I would send my own family Dr Gomez.

Interventional Psychiatry of Arizona works with most major insurance plans. Coverage and copays vary by plan, so our team verifies your benefits before your first appointment and tells you what you will owe.

That depends on your plan — a deductible, copay or coinsurance may still apply. Our team verifies your benefits before your first appointment and tells you what your policy covers, so there are no surprises. Self-pay options are available; ask us on the first call.

Because a medication plan is only as good as the history behind it. The initial evaluation covers your mental health history, every medication you have tried and are currently taking, medical factors, side effects and your goals. That is what lets us tailor a plan rather than guess at one.

Yes. Evaluations, medication management and follow-up visits can be done virtually anywhere in Arizona. Some patients do the first appointment in person and everything after that from home.

No referral is required to schedule with us. If you are already working with a therapist or primary care provider, we are glad to coordinate so everyone stays aligned.

Yes. Taking over an existing regimen — including a complicated one built up over years, or one started by a provider you no longer see — is routine for us. Bring your current bottles or a pharmacy list to the first visit.

That is a legitimate goal and we plan for it. Stopping a psychiatric medication safely usually means a structured taper with monitoring, not simply stopping — which is exactly the kind of thing regular follow-ups are for.
